Everyone is kept on track and the team can keep its focus if team members understand what they are doing and what for. Otherwise, if goals are vague and the team is obscured, there wouldn't be coherence and efforts towards working for the goals will be in disarray.
- When the goal is accomplished, what benefit does it give to the organization? How does it benefit the brand and the business? You as the leader? The team? Keep the outcomes in mind when setting leadership goals. Strategies implemented to achieve a goal should be commensurate to the results you expect later on.
- As a run over, try setting short term goals at first. This can serve to be a trial for your later trysts on goal setting. More difficulties are encountered with big, long- term goals, and they can be daunting as well. When setting short term goals in the meantime, you get to test your limits and capacity along with the people you'll be working with.
