Improve Your Memory By Improving Your Concentration

Its a simple yet often overlooked concept. But by improving your concentration you will also be improving your memory. To concentrate means to focus intensely. If you are able to concentrate, there will be no way you can focus in enough to remember new things. Therefore, your level of concentration directly affects your memory.

How To Improve Your Concentration

The great thing about concentration is that it is a skill that can be learned. However, it does take a little time and effort on your part. Here are a few simple things you can start doing right now that will help you improve your concentration.

#1 - Meditate

Meditation is a very simple way for you to practice concentration. Start with just one or two minutes every morning before you start your day. Meditate on something good so you will have a good day.

#2 - Get Enough Sleep

Too many people are sleep deprived. If you aren't getting enough sleep your body will not be able to perform at a high level. This means you won't be able to focus when it matters most. So get plenty of rest each and every night. 7 to 9 hours is perfect.

#3 - Eat Right

Your brain needs proper nutrients in order to fully function. So make sure you are getting the right vitamins and nutrients in your body everyday. Eat more fruits and veggies and less greasy foods and you will be fine.

#4 - Play Brain Games

Yes there is a such thing as brain games. These are games that are specifically designed to stimulate you brain and make it grow. By playing brain games and other games that require you to concentrate you will be improving your memory. There are plenty of free brain games you can play online.

#5 - Exercise

Exercise is good for everything. Even improving your memory. So get outside and exercise for about 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Trust me, it will do you a world of good.

#6 - Give Yourself A Break

If you are doing something for an extended period of time, your mental energy will start to slow down. So no matter what you are doing, give yourself a break every now and then.

These are just 6 simple things you can do to help improve your concentration and memory. You don't have to do all of them. Just a few will result in significant progress.
