3 Simple Ways to Reconnect With Lost Dreams and Find Your Life's Calling

By Denny Stockdale

In my recent travels across the country meeting people that want to rediscover their lost dreams and find their life's calling, I'm always amazed at how many of them believe they don't have any dreams left.

I am here to tell you: nothing could be further from the truth!

It breaks my heart, but most of these people are stuck in a rut and don't know how to get out. And the worst part is: it just doesn't have to happen.

If you want to break out of your ruts (and I KNOW you do), here are 3 simple ways to reconnect with lost dreams and find your life's calling.

1. Think of your child hood. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and imagine what it was like when you were 8 or 9 years old. What excited you about the future? What did you enjoy doing? Who were your friends? Who were adults that had a positive impact on your life?
As you reflect on these questions, see what comes up for you. Write a few things down.

2. Over the next week, keep track of what energizes you. Carry a notebook with you and take a minute or two a few times a day to write a quick note about what really excites you.

3. Ask a few close friends what they think your dreams are. Sometimes, you might get so lost in the day to day routine that you forget. Your friends and family often have perspectives that will help you. You just need to have the courage to ask bold questions.

These simple exercises will give you clues to what your dreams are. If you can dig deep enough, you will open the door to help you reconnect with lost dreams.

No matter how long you've been working on uncovering lost dreams, chances are you are missing one of these important points. The good news: you can follow the simple steps I have outlined and reconnect with lost dreams and find your life's calling.
